La Casa dei Gerani , Roma

DESCRIPTION:

1st floor with lift (1 floor up from street level). Entry hall, living room (with sofa-bed for two + single folding bed) with little terrace with seating places, bedroom (double bed + baby bed if requested) with big wardrobe and TV, fully equipped kitchen, shower bathroom. A 6th folding bed may be asked for, but we prefer to offer a 5 adult occupancy, for our guests' comfort. All rooms except the entrance have windows, and you access separately to the bathroom from both bedroom and livingroom (at night you don't have to cross the other sleeping room). Cooking facilities, oven, microwaves, refrigerator with small freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, american coffee and espresso coffee machines, toaster, orange squeezer, Hi-fi, satelliteTV, DVD, WIFI internet connection included, iron & ironing table, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, folding table where 8 people may dine.

 

Bed linen, towels, water, gaz, heating in winter, air-conditioning in Summer, electric power are included.

 

THE LOCATION:

The apartment is located in via Tripolitania 154, in the north-eastern part of town and is very well served by public transport.  All stops are a few minutes walk from the flat. You may choose whether to take  the bus or the city train or the underground. It is a quiet, family living and shopping district, plenty of little restaurants, placed between ancient Nomentana street and shopping viale Libia street. On the same street, a few minutes walk away, you find the covered fresh fruit market, every morning Mon. to Sat., where you buy fresh fish on Tuesday and Friday, and an ORGANIC FOOD supermarket next to the local market. Within 50 meters (1 minute or less) from the apartment you find: 2 other supermarkets, fruit&vegetable seller, pharmacy, bakery, bank, 24hrs cash withdrawal, coffee bar downstairs if you want to start the day with a cappuccino, take-away pizza, laundry, tobaccos, newspapers. You can also call PIZZA or chinese restaurant to have the food delivered at home. Post office is 200 mt away.  A 10 minutes walk to piazza St.Emerenziana will take you to one of the best pastry and ice-cream makers in Rome!

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

The area is one of the better served by public transport in Rome. The new B line underground station, "LIBIA", has opened on June '12 and it is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. It stops at: piazza Bologna, Termini railway station, Coliseum, Circo Massimo, Piramide, St.Paul's basilique, Eur. The Treno Metropolitano stop is 50 mt away from home, and its stops are: Tiburtina (6min), Tuscolana(14min), Ostiense(20min), Trastevere, Villa Bonelli, Magliana, Muratellaf, Ponte Galeria, Fiera di Roma, Parco Leonardo, and Fiumicino aeroporto in less than 1 hour (its last stop) bypassing Rome's traffic jam. Then there are buses all the time on Viale Libia shopping street (about 100 mt, 2 minutes walking distance), going to Termini station, to piazza San Silvestro (near Fontana di Trevi,  via del Corso), and on Nomentana street (less than 5 minutes walking distance, some 300 mt), reaching Termini station (10 minutes ride) and via del Tritone and via del Corso, in the heart of the hystoric centre. You can also easily reach the Vatican by city-train, changing in Trastevere. If you want to go to Ostia beach you step on the same city train 50mt from home, step down in Ostiense station and take the Ostia Lido train there (every 10 minutes or so), it takes around one hour twenty minutes.

The train from Fiumicino airport stops a few minutes from the apt, but if you prefere or if you arrive from ciampino airport, we may arrange for a car with driver to be there waiting for you at the airport at a cheaper price than taxis.

 

PARKING:

For those arriving by car, if you don't  want to park your car on the street, you can leave it at a paying parking about 20 mt from the apt, for a 15€ per day fee. We advise not to use the car in Rome. It is much easier to use public transport, traffic jams are terrible and many streets in the center are off-limits for non-residents.

 

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT:

We try not to impose any check-in nor check-out time, to allow you to get to the apartment as soon as you're in town, and to stay on the day of your departure until you please. We do this, unless we've got a departure and an arrival on the same day, with too short a time to allow us to do the cleaning and to properly prepare the apartment.
